Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC seeks a Design-Build Project Manager to lead transportation projects across the DC/MD/VA region. You will guide the team from pursuit through delivery, coordinating with owners, designers, and contractors to meet milestones and drive value.

You will manage schedules, vendor contracts, and stakeholder communications while upholding safety standards and quality. This is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic, growth-oriented firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction management, preferably on civil, highway, or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth understanding of the design-build method of project delivery including design, right-of-way, utility coordination, public involvement and construction.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in scheduling software – P6
• Proficient in common office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• A team player with leadership abilities
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• PE License (preferred)
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design-build project team through all pursuit and delivery phases.
• Collaborate with owner, design team and construction staff to develop staged design deliverables with VE and constructability reviews.
• Manage design comment responses and stakeholder concerns.
• Create preliminary and baseline schedules in scheduling software.
• Coordinate utility relocations, right-of-way acquisitions and public outreach with in-house staff and consultants.
• Conduct progress meetings with owners, designers and delivery team.
• Oversee buyout and contract negotiations with vendors and subs.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed and upheld.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and coworkers.
