Job summary

Dewberry Design-Builders Inc. is seeking a Project Executive in the Fairfax, VA area to support and grow our design-build practice across the Carolinas and MidAtlantic.

This role focuses on the Water/Wastewater division but offers the opportunity to expand into Energy, Federal, and MEPS infrastructure work in a growing Design-Build division. The hybrid schedule provides flexibility while delivering high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 10-15 years of experience in water/WWTP or related field involving construction of complex MEP intensive projects.
• Experience with design-build or alternative delivery projects is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
• Exposure to subcontractor management and construction procurement processes.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and project partners.

Responsibilities

• Support business development and pursuit efforts, including proposal preparation and preconstruction coordination.
• Lead construction planning, estimating, pricing, and execution for water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage day-to-day project activities across design and construction phases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, field staff, and subcontractors.
• Support subcontractor identification, procurement, and contract administration.
• Review project contracts and assist in managing subcontract agreements and change orders.
• Partner with HSE teams to promote safety best practices across projects.
• Monitor project performance, including schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Support collaboration across Dewberry offices and water practice teams.
