Responsibilities

McGuire + Co. Kitchen & Bath and Top Notch Builders Construction, Inc. are seeking an experienced Design-Build Project Estimator to join our residential remodeling design-build team.

Position Summary

As a Project Estimator, you will act as the primary bridge between homeowners and our design and production teams. You'll guide clients through the initial sales, design development, material selection, and estimating phases, ensuring every residential remodeling project moves smoothly from concept to contract.

This is a client-facing construction and sales role requiring strong working knowledge of residential remodeling, estimating, construction methods, building codes, project scope development, and the overall design-build process.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Consultation & Sales: Qualify inbound leads, conduct in-home consultations, discover client needs, and present design-build solutions.
• Design & Scope Development: Collaborate with clients to establish project goals and realistic project scopes for kitchens, baths, additions, basements, whole-home renovations, and other residential remodeling projects, taking into consideration existing conditions, structural requirements, building codes, and construction feasibility.
• Estimating & Job Costing: Develop detailed scope-of-work documents, project budgets, and accurate estimates for full residential remodeling projects using company pricing models and software; request bids from subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor site walk-throughs as needed.
• Contract Execution: Draft and present design agreements, construction contracts, and change orders.
• Pre-Construction Hand-Off: Partner with the Production Manager, Designers, Lead Carpenters, and subcontractors during site walk-throughs to ensure seamless project handoffs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in residential remodeling sales, estimating, project development, or project management, with direct experience developing, estimating, and pricing full residential remodeling projects.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, structural and site considerations, project sequencing, cabinetry, windows, doors, and finish materials.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and construction management software such as Buildertrend or CoConstruct and standard estimating tools.
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills.
• Organization: Strong time-management skills with the ability to run multiple prospective projects simultaneously.
• Base Salary: $80,000 per year.
• Commission / Earnings Potential: $125,000 total target compensation, including base salary and commission.
