Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a design-build contractor in the Mid-Atlantic region. The role supports project managers from preconstruction through closeout on commercial construction, with emphasis on budgeting, scheduling, procurement, RFIs, and documentation.

You will collaborate with designers, owners, architects, engineers, and field teams to meet objectives, stay on schedule, and manage costs while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a general contractor or design-build firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting projects through preconstruction, procurement, and project execution.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost control processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Supporting budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Working closely with design teams, owners, architects, engineers, and field personnel to ensure project objectives, schedules, and budgets are achieved.
  • Monitoring project progress, tracking costs, and helping identify and resolve potential issues to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinating meetings, maintaining project records, and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring quality control and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assisting with project buyout, vendor and subcontractor negotiations, and closeout activities including punch lists and turnover documents.
