Job summary

Structural Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist in all phases of construction projects, from estimating through close‑out. The role involves coordinating resources and interfacing with inspectors, contractors, architects, and clients.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of assistant PM experience, knowledge of design‑build and design‑bid‑build processes, and strong communication skills. This on‑site position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical).
• 1–3 years’ assistant project management experience in commercial and/or federal general building construction.
• Experience in estimating and managing design‑build and design‑bid‑build projects.
• Understanding of construction means and methods for new construction, building renovation, system upgrades, and structural repairs.
• Strong computer skills and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Project.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a construction project from estimating to close‑out.
• Allocate resources for assigned projects.
• Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients.
• Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
• Work hand‑in‑hand with superintendents to maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
