Job summary

Gleeson Constructors & Engineers, L.L.C. offers a paid summer internship in Sioux City, Iowa, giving students in Construction or Civil Engineering real-world exposure.

You will work with engineers and design-build partners, supporting planning, budgeting, and code compliance while visiting job sites to observe safety and quality standards. Develop leadership and organizational skills while collaborating with leadership, Project Managers, and various engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Team player committed to safety and quality.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and E-Verify employment eligibility verification.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers and design-build partners across multiple disciplines.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and code compliance.
• Support estimating and bidding through proposals, cost control, and drawings.
• Help manage construction documents including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project closeout documents.
• Visit job sites to observe safety and quality standards.
• Use tools like Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
• Develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Work directly with company leadership, Project Managers, Superintendents, Design Technicians, and Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Structural Engineers.
