Job summary

Merus, a long-established real estate developer and builder, is seeking a Design-Build Co-op in Raleigh, NC. The role supports project teams by coordinating design and construction activities, interpreting drawings, and helping prepare schedules, scopes, and bids.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple business units and deliver work that supports clients, investors, and colleagues. Current students pursuing a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Civil Engineering will collaborate

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from an accredited College or University
• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel and Word is required; other software skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist coordination of design and construction with project team (PMs, superintendents, architects)
• Read and interpret construction drawings, documents, and requests for proposal(s)
• Aid in creating project schedules
• Create scopes of work and bid packages to facilitate subcontract buy-out
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings for estimates/proposals
• Coordinate drawings and schedule with subcontractors
• Administer updated drawings, drawing log, submittals, and shop drawings
• Prepare contracts and monthly invoices; issue change-orders
• Attend meetings, record minutes, and assist in project planning
• Prepare weekly progress reports for owner review
• Deliver packages and permits to site as needed
