Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking an Engineering Design Assurance Manager to lead the DA function from concept to launch. You will own design risk identification and mitigation, drive requirements quality, and partner with engineering to ensure products meet performance and reliability targets at launch.

The role is hybrid in Plymouth, MN, requiring collaboration with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure robust design and worldwide compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 6+ years in product development, design engineering, or design assurance.
• 4+ years leading teams or large initiatives.
• Deep DFMEA and system-level risk understanding.
• Experience linking customer needs to system requirements and validation.

Responsibilities

• Drive design assurance governance across NPI gate processes (DDR, ORR, BCRR) and ensure decisions are evidence-based.
• Own requirements quality, traceability, and tight coupling of customer needs to engineering specs.
• Lead DFMEA quality and use modeling/simulation to reduce risk early.
• Own validation strategy and DVP&R coverage to verify performance and safety.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Readiness to ensure design transfers are clean and production-ready.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and drive accountability for design quality.
