Job summary

The H. Chambers Company seeks a Design Architect with 3–8 years of experience to lead and mentor on architectural projects.

The candidate will manage design from concept through construction documentation, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and vendors to meet tight deadlines and high client expectations. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit and familiarity with building codes and AIA procedures are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master degree in architecture is required.
  • Licensure or strong interest in attaining licensure is preferred.
  • Strong portfolio showing creative architectural designs is required.
  • Experience guiding design from pre-design to construction administration.
  • Ability to collaborate with project team and manager to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Experience with expanded teams including engineers, general contractors, and vendors.
  • Fluency in AutoCAD or Revit; other software a plus.
  • Knowledge of building codes, AIA docs, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor architectural design staff.
  • Lead architectural design from concept to construction drawings and documentation.
  • Coordinate with technical disciplines to keep deliverables on target.
  • Conduct code reviews and compliance checks.
  • Assist production team with QA/QC of construction documents.
  • Represent Chambers with clients, suppliers, and industry colleagues.
  • Maintain active involvement in professional organizations (AIA).
  • Engage with high-end private club clients and key stakeholders.

Job description

DESIGN ARCHITECT

One of the nation's leading Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design firms is searching for a Design Architect with 3-8 years of experience.

Qualified Candidate Should Possess
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • A License or strong interest in attaining Architectural License in the future
  • Proven design experience and a strong portfolio exemplifying creative designs for architectural projects
  • Experience managing the design process from pre-design/programming through construction administration
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a project team and project manager from conception to completion to effectively meet aggressive deadlines and high client expectations
  • Significant experience working with expanded project teams, including engineering consultants, general contractors, and vendors
  • Fluency in AutoCAD or Revit; additional software a plus
  • Current and working knowledge of building codes, AIA documents, and procedures
  • Contract Administration capabilities
  • Experience in hospitality design is preferred
Specific Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
  • Supervising and mentoring the architectural design staff
  • Leading the architectural design for conceptual master plans and building design through detail development, construction drawings, and documentation
  • Coordinating efforts with all associated technical disciplines to ensure deliverables are on target
  • Conducting code review and compliance
  • Assist production team in preparation, QA, QC, and review of construction documents
  • Serving as a Chambers representative for clients as well as suppliers, vendors, and colleagues within the industry
  • Maintaining a strong presence in professional organizations (such as AIA)
  • Engaging with our high-end private club clientele and other key stakeholders
