Job summary

Nehez Recruiting client seeks a Design & Applications Engineer in Rochester Hills, MI to develop custom electromechanical testing and process monitoring solutions for manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with customers to translate requirements into engineered systems from concept through implementation.

The role involves working with cross-functional teams, preparing layouts and specs, supporting prototypes, and assisting sales with technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in product design, applications engineering, systems engineering, or custom automation equipment.
  • Experience designing engineered products or systems for industrial or manufacturing applications.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact directly with customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLC‑controlled equipment, instrumentation, or industrial controls.
  • Experience supporting customer‑facing engineering or applications engineering activities.
