Job summary

Holman Enterprises, a family-owned, global automotive services organization, is seeking an experienced Up-fit Specifications Specialist. You will develop complete specifications for vehicle up-fits, ensure OEM compatibility, and maintain up-to-date model-year information while delivering timely quotes.

The role requires 6+ years in automotive/manufacturing, a relevant bachelor’s degree (ASE training a plus), and strong MS Office and ERP/MRP experience.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive, math, or related field or equivalent experience in commercial truck or up-fitting industries.
  • ASE training is a plus and experience reading electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office; ERP/MRP or BOM management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complete, accurate and up-to-date specifications for up-fit to meet client needs.
  • Review specifications for OEM compatibility, processing standards and fitment.
  • Document and communicate changes; maintain knowledge of vehicle specs and model year changes.
  • Provide timely quotes and options, aligning with SLA expectations.
  • Collaborate with REM and sales teams to support client reviews and drive savings.

Job description

Principal Purpose of Position
  • Develop complete, accurate and up-to-date specifications for up-fit, to best meet the client’s business application(s) and needs.
  • Review and monitor specifications for compliance with current OEM applications, processing standards, supply chain strategy as well as fitment and compatibility between selected components.
  • Document and communicate resulting changes.
  • Maintain technical working knowledge of chassis availability, specifications, and model year changes.
  • Serves as a single point of contact, and resolution, for all vehicle Design related questions
  • Provides timely and accurate quotes, aligned with the expectations established, meeting SLA’s where applicable.
  • Offer alternative options based on OEM and supplier limitations, as well as utilizing Holman preferred vendor partners Research and make recommendations to drive savings, safety improvements, improved client work applications, or other benefits to customer specifications.
  • Complete price quotations on vehicle upfit
  • Maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities, features, lead times and alternative suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Regional Engineering Manager (REM) to support sales efforts by participating in client/product/up-fit reviews when necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with sales, customers, engineering, suppliers, operations, scheduling and other departments and stakeholders to understand clients’ needs, expectations, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Understand clients’ use and application of vehicle and components.
  • Finalize orderable and complete quotes to flow seamlessly through the ordering process.
  • Attend informational sessions and training with OEM partners and up-fitters to stay on top of industry trends, technology and products.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and/or Relevant Work Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (including but not limited to engineering, automotive, mathematical) or equivalent experience in commercial truck or up-fitting industries.
  • ASE training considered a plus
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience with MS Office software.
  • Additional experience with ERP, MRP or BOM management systems a plus.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with managing multiple projects at same time

Pay: We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $60,800.00 - $86,640.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
