American Conservation Experience, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, seeks four Members for invasive plant management at Cabeza Prieta NWR, AZ. Start Feb 8, 2027; end by Apr 30, 2027 with a 12-week minimum commitment.

Living allowance $600/week; housing provided; potential GIS/ArcGIS work and field training. Position emphasizes professional development, field experience in land management, and public outreach.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to hike in hot conditions and rough terrain.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Must pass criminal history checks.

Responsibilities

  • Invasive plant surveying for buffelgrass and stinknet on refuge lands.
  • Manual removal of non-native invasive plants; herbicide exposure possible.
  • Record treatment data using Field Maps and Survey123 in ArcGIS.
  • Operate 4WD government trucks in remote areas; educate the public on resource management.
