Job summary

Austin Industrial in Des Moines, IA is seeking a skilled Millwright to diagnose, repair and install industrial mechanical equipment on-site in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, alignments and part replacements.

Requirements: 3–5 years journeyman level experience; pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen and background check; able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at elevations. We offer competitive benefits and an ESOP. We are 100% Employee-Owned.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and industrial mechanical equipment.
• Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
• Tests, repairs, or installs mechanical units and components (pumps, distributors, brakes, clutches, etc.).
• Replaces bearings, chains, sprockets, and various machine parts.
• Align machines using hoists, jacks, and precision tools.
• Fabricates repair parts as needed.
• Work with PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
