Timken is seeking a Shipping Associate for our climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Goodlettsville, TN. You will play a key role in managing international shipments for over 80 countries, ensuring accurate packaging, proper documentation, and compliance with global regulations.

Position Summary:
As a Shipping Associate at our climate-controlled manufacturing facility, you will be a critical part of our international shipping operations. We ship our products to over 80 countries each year, making your role vital in ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of our products worldwide. This position operates on a first shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of occasional overtime on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare Shipments:
- Accurately assemble, package, and label products for international shipment.
- Select appropriate packaging materials, crates, and containers for international transportation.
- Ensure products are securely and safely packed to prevent damage during long-distance transit.
2. Shipping Documentation:
- Generate and review international shipping documents, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export licenses.
- Maintain compliance with all international shipping regulations and standards.
3. Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
- Keep track of inventory levels for packaging materials and report shortages.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits.
4. Quality Control:
- Inspect outgoing international shipments for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with order specifications.
- Address any discrepancies or issues with international shipments and take corrective actions as necessary.
5. Coordination:
- Communicate with international carriers and freight companies to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensure timely and efficient transportation of products to international destinations.
- Monitor the status of international shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices in the handling and storage of materials.
- Follow all relevant regulations and company policies regarding international shipping and handling of products.
7. Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
8. Teamwork:
-Collaborate with other team members in the manufacturing and logistics departments to ensure a smooth flow of products from production to shipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in international shipping or a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with international shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (training can be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, especially in international shipping documentation.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy packages.
