Job Description Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales business leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to the needs of each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs by problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account selling, access navigation, problem solving, team collaboration, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify mutual priorities and develop a strategic territory business plan to increase product demand by addressing key partners' and patients' needs, aiming for excellent outcomes.
  2. Foster clinical discussions that motivate customers to advocate for their patients and involve the entire account team to overcome barriers with appropriate solutions.
  3. Use market knowledge, including competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies, to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  4. Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  5. Analyze market data and trends to understand the local business landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person interactions.
  6. Leverage systems and omni-channel strategies for personalized customer engagement, both virtually and face-to-face.
  7. Collaborate with regional colleagues, other field staff, and home-office teams to proactively address customer needs and support access.
  8. Provide timely access support and work with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to efficiently meet customer requirements.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient clinical product communication, a track record of high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key segments.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to utilize data for problem-solving and customer satisfaction, demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of its border; able to travel 60-80% across the territory, with a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with various therapeutic areas, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement pathways, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines:
  • Position will be filled at a level matching the candidate’s experience:
  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ experience
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ experience
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years’ experience

Salary ranges vary by level, with detailed figures provided, and may be adjusted based on market conditions and individual factors.

Initial training will be completed within 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
