Protouch Staffing seeks a Dermatology NP or PA for a full-time clinical position in Rockingham, NC. Qualifications

• Master's degree required and NC NP/PA license.
• National certification required: NP or PA depending on track.
• Dermatology experience preferred (minimum 1 year).
• New grads considered if prior RN dermatology experience 4–5 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations and histories.
• Diagnose and manage acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes.
• Identify and treat AK, BCC, SCC, melanoma within scope.
• Perform dermatology procedures: shave, punch, excisional biopsies; cryotherapy; lesion removal.
• Order, review, and interpret dermatopathology and tests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications and educate patients on skin health.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation; comply with HIPAA and regs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in medical dermatology to join our growing rural health dermatology practice. This role is ideal for a provider who values meaningful patient relationships, continuity of care, and improving access to dermatologic services in underserved communities.

The provider will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medically necessary skin conditions while working collaboratively with supervising physicians. This position focuses exclusively on clinical dermatology, emphasizing evidence ‑ based care, patient education, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including detailed histories and full ‑ body skin examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common and chronic dermatologic conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes, etc.).
• Identify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions (AK, BCC, SCC, melanoma) within scope of practice.
• Perform medical dermatology procedures including:
• Shave, punch, and excisional biopsies
• Cryotherapy
• Lesion removal
• Wound care and post-procedure management
• Order, review, and interpret dermatopathology and diagnostic tests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and clinical guidelines.
• Provide patient-centered education on skin health, disease prevention, and treatment expectations.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
• Uphold all regulatory, clinical, and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and dermatology ‑ specific continuing education.

Qualifications

• Required**
• Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current NP or PA license in North Carolina.
• National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA).
• ** Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience (medical dermatology strongly preferred).
• New graduates are accepted, but they must have prior RN experience in Dermatology minimum 4 to 5 years (RN dermatology )
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and procedural skills.
• Excellent communication and patient ‑ education abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast ‑ paced clinical setting.
• Preferred**
• Dermatology certification (e.g., DCNP for NPs or equivalent dermatology-focused certification for PAs) or willingness to pursue certification after hire.
• Experience performing dermatologic procedures (biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion removal, etc.).
• Familiarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systems.
• Commitment to rural health, access-to-care initiatives, and long-term patient relationships.
