Job summary

Apex Skin in Northeast Ohio is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers with rooming patients, dermatologic procedures, EMR scribing, patient education, and front office duties in a fast-paced, team-focused clinic.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years MA experience (dermatology a plus), CMA/RMA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it. Training is provided, with growth paths into surgical or Mohs support; occasional travel to Madison Clinic as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred (dermatology experience a plus).
• Active CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency in EMR documentation and basic computer software.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, collect short histories, and update medication lists.
• Prepare exam rooms and anticipate provider needs during procedures.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, surgical procedures, and dermatologic treatments.
• Scribe for providers in real time, documenting notes, treatments, diagnoses, and instructions in the EMR.
• Maintain and update patient records and EMR documentation to meet compliance standards.
• Educate patients on instructions, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and medication usage.
• Handle lab documentation, biopsy/culture logs, and telephone encounters in the EMR.
• Travel to nearby Apex Skin locations as needed to support operations.
