Job summary

Apex Skin in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology providers with clinical and administrative tasks. This role includes rooming patients, assisting with biopsies and dermatologic procedures, and serving as a clinical scribe in the EMR.

You will educate patients on treatment plans, maintain accurate records, and handle front-office duties. Occasional travel to nearby Apex Skin locations is required, with a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred (dermatology experience is a plus).
• Active CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.
• Prior clinical scribe experience is helpful, but not required.
• Proficiency in basic medical terminology and EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, collect short histories, and update medication lists.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with biopsies, excisions, and dermatologic procedures.
• Scribe for providers during visits, documenting in the EMR in real time.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and medication usage.
• Maintain patient records and EMR documentation to meet compliance.
• Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, scanning, and prior authorizations.
• Travel to nearby Apex Skin locations as needed to support operations.
