Job summary

Apex Skin in Northeast Ohio is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with rooming patients, assisting in dermatology procedures, and acting as a clinical scribe in the EMR. You will educate patients, manage front-office duties as needed, and help maintain accurate records in a fast-paced team environment.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, attention to detail, and at least 2 years of MA experience; dermatology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
• Customer service mindset with professionalism and patient focus.
• Proficiency in basic computer software, medical terminology, and EMR documentation.
• Ability to document clinical information accurately as a scribe (training provided).
• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred (dermatology experience is a plus).
• Active CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, collect histories, update medication lists.
• Prepare exam rooms based on scheduled procedures and anticipate provider needs.
• Assist providers with biopsies, excisions, surgical procedures, and other dermatologic treatments.
• Scribe for providers during visits, documenting notes in real time.
• Maintain and update patient records and EMR documentation for compliance.
