Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Plastic Surgery Office in a multi-site setting. You will work Monday through Friday with shift assignments in Dayton, Vandalia, Springfield, or related sites as needed.

The role involves clinical and procedural patient care under supervision, including EHR data entry, assisting physicians, phlebotomy, wound care, medication administration, and patient instructions. Travel between offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in medical office.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and confirming purpose of visit.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Assist physician during medical examination and procedures.
• Change wound dressings, remove sutures, and perform in-office phlebotomy.
• Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Complete phone triage and notify patients of pathology and lab results.
• Scribe office visits and administer medications as ordered.
