Job summary

Schweiger Gilroy is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support dermatology services in our Gilroy office. The role involves assisting physicians in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures, handling documentation and patient flow, and maintaining clinical readiness throughout shifts.

Ideal candidates have dermatology or healthcare experience, EMR/scheduling software familiarity, and strong communication skills. Open weekday/weekend availability and a team-focused environment are required.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and scheduling systems.
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Open availability to work weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations.
• Prepare rooms and check all equipment at shifts' start to ensure proper function.
• Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
• Inventory and stock supplies; alert Head MA/GM of low levels.
