Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake dermatology unit seeks a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) for a full-time, day-shift role in Seattle. You will room patients, take vital signs, prepare rooms, assist with injections and procedures, and coordinate records with providers. Must have a CAHHEP/ABHES accredited MA program or equivalent and WA state MA-C certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent.
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6 months of hire.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Assist with injections and procedures; prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit prior authorizations for medications and treatments.
• Recognize symptoms and report findings to providers.
• Act as liaison between patients, families and providers.
• Assist in transporting patients as required.
• Perform point-of-care testing and report abnormal laboratory values.
