Job summary

University of Washington Medical Center Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for a full-time role in Seattle. The position supports a busy dermatology clinic, providing patient rooming, vital signs, injections, exam room preparation, prior authorizations, and care coordination between patients and providers.

The MA-C will work in a high-volume, teaching-hospital environment and must maintain WA MA-C credentials and BLS CPR.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or other recognized board or equivalent.
• Must be WA State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire.
• Valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Perform injections.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit medication prior authorizations.
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider.
• Act as a liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and exams.
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values.
• Assist in transporting patients as required.

Education

CAAHEP/ABHES-accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent

Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or eligible within 6 months
