Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support clinicians during exams and procedures, manage medications and injections, and handle administrative coordination. This hands-on role blends direct patient care with clinical operations.

You will assist with wound care, specimen handling, and documentation while upholding HIPAA and safety standards in a fast-paced clinic. Prior EMR experience and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in a medical/clinical setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• CPR certification. EMR/EHR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during exams, sterile field set-up, procedures and surgical cases.
• Prepare medications and injections per policy and process refill requests under provider direction.
• Prepare patients for treatment with histories and consent documentation.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, injections, and suture removals.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; handle specimens and collect tests.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and testing; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Respond to in-clinic emergencies per protocol; document per policy.
• Uphold HIPAA, safety standards, and CLIA-waived testing as trained.
