Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners, at West Clinic in La Jolla, San Diego, CA, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, document histories, and assist with exams and cosmetic procedures.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of medical office experience, EMR proficiency, and strong communication and organizational skills. A High School Diploma is required; CMA training is required; CMA certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant training required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years of experience in a medical office.
• Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Experience with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from the exam room and prepare them for examinations.
• Enter complete medical histories and current medications into the chart.
• Assist the Physician/Provider by scribing notes in the medical record.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, sutures, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect lab specimens and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms and stocking.
• Laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other back-office duties as assigned.
