Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic in Knoxville, TN. The Medical Assistant will assist physicians and other providers by preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, recording vital signs, organizing patient flow, preparing trays and specimens, assisting with injections, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and supporting a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related training preferred.
• Experience measuring vital signs and administering injections.
• Familiar with medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 codes.
• Basic computer skills and EMR experience.
• Willingness to travel to satellite offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and verify first/last name and DOB.
• Record vital signs and organize patient flow.
• Prepare procedure trays, instruments and equipment per instructions.
• Prepare Path/lab specimens and route to lab per insurance guidance.
• Assist with injections and anesthesia for procedures.
• Maintain infection control and stock supplies.
