Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a vocational nurse (LVN) to deliver high-quality nursing care in a busy Houston setting. You will perform clinical tasks, patient preparation, and collaboration with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes documentation, HIPAA compliance, and efficient patient flow across multiple duties while maintaining patient safety and care standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program.
• Current and valid Texas LVN license.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.
• 6 months in a clinical area or successful completion of a KSC LVN Residency program.
• Computer experience.
• Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for the assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical tasks: review schedules, prepare and submit documents, manage patient information.
• Provide patient care tasks, monitor health status, document findings and administer medications.
• Assist physician with examinations and procedures; prepare patient for visits and maintain rooms.
• Maintain department QA, equipment, and supplies; ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
• Support patient education, language needs, and interpreter requirements; transport patients as needed.
• Handle telephone triage and information gathering for medical decisions.
