Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Trade Surveillance Associate in the Market Regulation Department to monitor, investigate, and enforce surveillance rules for the exchange’s CFTC-registered market activities. You will analyze alerts, prepare reports, and support compliance with CDE’s rulebook.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience providing market and trade surveillance support for regulated entities.
• Solid understanding of derivatives trading practices and investigative techniques.
• Ability to produce clear investigative memoranda, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent investigations and deadlines with accuracy.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Investigate potential trade practice violations to ensure compliance with CDE rules and applicable regulations.
• Analyze surveillance alerts and triage matters with leadership.
• Produce investigative reports documenting observations and assessments.
• Deliver updates and presentations to the CRO, CDE Board, and Regulatory Oversight Committee.
• Identify patterns in surveillance data and recommend process improvements.
