Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Trade Surveillance Associate in the Market Regulation Department of Coinbase Derivatives, LLC (CDE). This hands-on role monitors trading activity, investigates potential violations, and ensures compliance with CDE's rulebook and applicable regulations.

You will analyze surveillance alerts, prepare investigative memoranda and reports for leadership, and deliver updates to the Regulatory Oversight Committee, while identifying patterns to strengthen the program.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of market and trade surveillance experience with regulated entities.
• Strong understanding of market fundamentals, derivatives trading, and regulatory rules.
• Ability to produce clear investigative memos, reports, and stakeholder presentations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate potential trade practice violations to ensure compliance with CDE rules.
• Analyze surveillance alerts and triage matters for leadership review.
• Produce investigative reports documenting observations and findings.
• Deliver updates to the Chief Regulatory Officer, Board, and Oversight Committee.
• Identify trends in surveillance data and propose program improvements.
