Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a DER Planning Lead Engineer to provide distribution-focused expertise in DER interconnection studies and planning. The role leads modeling and reviews for generation and energy storage facilities connecting to the distribution system.

The position requires experience with power system analysis software (PSCAD, Synergi Electric) and strong collaboration across planning, engineering, and regulatory teams to deliver dependable interconnections and reliability

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum eight years of relevant experience in electric utility engineering and power system planning.
Experience with DER hosting capacity analysis and inverter-based resources preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain distribution system power flow models for interconnections.
Conduct technical assessments of DER integration and ISO-NE regional impacts.
Collaborate across multiple internal teams to identify planning needs and develop solutions.
Verify feasibility of plans using engineering methods and practices.
Lead engineering reviews and mentoring of staff engineers.
Represent Eversource in industry and regulatory working groups.
