Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in Pennsylvania is seeking a DER engineer to support interconnection studies, net metering projects, and distribution planning. You will analyze data, run CYME and SAP tools, review DER interconnection requests, and provide guidance for safe integration.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or PE license is a plus, 0–5 years of engineering experience, and willingness to travel. Proficiency with Excel, GISView, and data reporting is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE license is a plus.
• 0–5 years of engineering experience required.
• DER interconnection review experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform DER interconnection studies and provide technical guidance.
• Lead and support interconnection projects and net metering initiatives.
• Use SAP, CYME, LFDMS, GISView, and related tools for analyses.
• Support planning and protection assessments and document findings.
• Coordinate with teams and contractors to implement recommendations.
• Travel within service territory as needed.
