Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Program Technician - Distributed Energy Resources to support interconnection processes for the distribution function across Pennsylvania service centers. You will handle interconnection mailboxes, perform reviews of interconnection applications, coordinate with engineering teams for upgrades, and assist in regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline; 1–2 years of related experience or 3 years without degree.
Familiarity with NESC/NEC, safety manuals, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to balance priorities and work with engineers, management, customers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

Manage interconnection mailboxes and generate queue numbers for retail net metering interconnection applications.
Perform Level 1–4 retail interconnection analyses and coordinate with design teams for upgrades.
Support PJM kickoff calls for wholesale interconnection projects.
Compile data for regulatory reporting to DOE and PA PUC.
Travel to various facilities and client sites as required.
