Job summary

Macomb County seeks a Deputy - Stormwater Engineering to supervise multiple stormwater initiatives, lead the engineering team, and coordinate with local, state, and federal officials to advance priorities of the Department of Public Works. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and at least seven years of experience; a Master's degree is preferred.

A Michigan driver’s license and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Construction Management or related field
• Seven (7) years of related work experience
• Master's Degree preferred
• Previous union experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Supervises multiple stormwater engineering initiatives including planning, studies, engineering evaluations, plan review, grants, data analysis, asset management and capital improvement projects.
• Leads stormwater engineering team and collaborates with stakeholders to advance department priorities.
• Coordinates permitting, stormwater standards, and codes with the Engineering Plan Review division.
• Manages automation of plan reviews and development of stormwater asset management program.
• Represents the department in community and intergovernmental settings.
• Interacts with the public and consultants to provide information related to the Public Works Department.
