Job description

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is currently recruiting for:

• Correctional Deputy and Deputy Sheriff - Lateral and Pre-Service candidates to be assigned throughout Riverside County.

Positions and Compensation

• Correctional Deputy I / II: $29.07 - $44.40 Hourly; $5,038.60 - $7,695.45 Monthly; $60,463.20 - $92,345.40 Annually
• Deputy Sheriff: $40.33 - $61.67 Hourly; $6,990.87 - $10,689.43 Monthly; $83,890.43 - $128,273.13 Annually

Eligibility and Certification Requirements

Correctional Deputy: Must possess a valid California Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification.

• Correctional Deputy Lateral: Currently working in a California adult correctional facility as a correctional deputy or equivalent, passed probation, and holds the STC - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification.
• Correctional Deputy Pre-Service: Holds the STC - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification and not currently employed in law enforcement.

* Note: We are not accepting California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation applicants as Pre-Service/Lateral candidates.

Deputy Sheriff: Must possess a valid California POST Certification or a California POST Waiver from another state.

• Deputy Sheriff Lateral: Currently a sworn peace officer in a California law enforcement agency, passed probation, and holds a California Basic POST Certificate.
• Deputy Sheriff Pre-Service: Graduated from a California POST-certified academy, holds an active POST certification, and is not currently a sworn peace officer in California.
• Deputy Sheriff - Out of State: Out-of-state candidates with a basic academy certification from another state can contact California POST for a waiver letter. Certifications from other states are not accepted directly.
