Deputy Sheriff / Correctional Deputy (**Pre-Service / Lateral Only**) (Finance)

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is currently recruiting for Correctional Deputy and Deputy Sheriff positions for Lateral and Pre-Service candidates to be assigned throughout Riverside County.

Positions and Compensation

1. Correctional Deputy I / II:
   Hourly: $29.07 - $44.40
   Monthly: $5,038.60 - $7,695.45
   Annually: $60,463.20 - $92,345.40
2. Deputy Sheriff:
   Hourly: $40.33 - $61.67
   Monthly: $6,990.87 - $10,689.43
   Annually: $83,890.43 - $128,273.13

Eligibility Requirements

Correctional Deputy

• Must possess a valid California Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification.
• Correctional Deputy Lateral: Currently working in a California adult correctional facility as a correctional deputy or equivalent, passed probation, and obtained California STC - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification.
• Correctional Deputy Pre-Service: Holds California STC - Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification and is not currently employed in law enforcement.

*Note: We are not accepting California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation applicants for Pre-Service or Lateral positions at this time.

Deputy Sheriff

• Must possess a valid California POST Certification or a California POST Waiver from another state.
• Deputy Sheriff Lateral: Currently employed as a sworn peace officer in a California law enforcement agency, passed probation, and has a California Basic POST Certificate.
• Deputy Sheriff Pre-Service: Graduated from a California POST-certified academy, holds an active California POST certification, and is not currently employed as a sworn peace officer in California.
• Out-of-State Candidates: Those with a basic certification from another state can contact California POST for a waiver letter. Certifications from other states are not accepted directly.
