Essential functions include testifying, serving legal documents, maintaining equipment and firearms, and conducting investigations. Required education includes a high school diploma, a Florida driver’s license, and completion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Florida driver's license is required.
• State of Florida Basic Recruit Certificate of Compliance or equivalent training.
• Completion of the Polk County Sheriff's Office Field Training Program.
• Prior law enforcement experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Testify at trials, hearings, and Grand Juries.
• Testify at depositions and serve subpoenas.
• Prepare orignal and supplemental reports.
• Maintain issued equipment and firearms.
• Inspect and maintain patrol vehicle.
• Interview victims, witnesses, informants and suspects.
• Complete field interrogation reports.
• Investigate crimes and pursue law violators.
