Responsibilities

• Represents State of Indiana in court proceedings, including presenting opening/closing statements and examining witnesses.
• Prepares and files charges, warrants, and petitions; handles misdemeanor and felony cases.
• Conducts pretrial discovery, negotiates plea agreements, and coordinates with city or county counterparts as needed.
• Supervises support personnel and maintains case-related statistics.
• Responds to inquiries from law enforcement, prosecutors, and the public by writing and speaking as required.
