Qualifikationen

• Associate Degree in related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain certifications for handgun/firearms training and investigation techniques and equipment by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) within specified time period.
• Ability to successfully complete annual ILEA-approved training.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Working knowledge of and ability to apply policies, procedures, legal requirements and terminology of the department and County justice system and the ability to perform investigative work for elder abuse.

Aufgaben

• Investigates criminal cases and citizen complaints, traveling as needed.
• Identifies and locates witnesses, victims and suspects.
• Obtains and reviews various case documents, such as arrest, prison, and case reports, crime lab reports, photographs, criminal histories, warrants, and records.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of case information as required.
• Serves witness subpoenas and court documents as assigned.
• Assists with grand jury, internal, and independent investigations assigned.
