Ahtna, Inc. is seeking a Deputy PM to assume PM responsibilities in the absence of the PM and assist with daily contract administration, training, staffing, compliance, reporting, and Government coordination.

The deputy will supervise security guards, oversee daily operations, ensure USGS security requirements are met, and coordinate with the COR and Government staff. The role also covers training management, documentation, and SOP updates.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in security management or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience managing security personnel, schedules, training programs, and contract compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to operate Government or company vehicles.
  • Ability to legally possess and carry a firearm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory control of all security guards on the contract.
  • Monitor daily operations and inspect guard performance for compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with USGS security rules, regs, directives, post orders, and SOPs.
  • Coordinate with COR and Government staff; attend meetings and briefings.
  • Maintain training records and administer guard qualifications and certifications.
  • Manage initial and recurring guard training requirements.
  • Ensure all contract-required certifications remain current.
  • Oversee hiring actions, onboarding, and personnel security requirements.
  • Establish guard duty rosters and staffing schedules.
  • Assist COR with badging, access control, and PIV administration.
  • Manage the contractor safety program.
  • Coordinate relief/backfill for lunches and staffing shortages.
  • Provide reports and documentation to the COR.
  • Assist in SOPs, Post Orders, and security procedure updates.
  • Perform other supervisory duties as directed.
  • Provide emergency response support as required.
  • Support EMT for OEP and COOP planning.

Job description

Deputy PM can assume all PM responsibilities in the absence of the PM and assist with daily contract administration, training, staffing, compliance, reporting, and Government coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Provides supervisory control of all security guards assigned to the contract.
  • Monitors daily operations and performance of the guard force and conducts inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all USGS physical security rules, regulations, directives, post orders, and SOPs.
  • Serves as the Contractor's liaison with the COR and Government staff and attends meetings, conferences, and briefings.
  • Maintains training records and administrative actions related to guard qualifications and certifications.
  • Manages, schedules, and administers initial and recurring training requirements.
  • Ensures all contract-required certifications and qualifications remain current.
  • Oversees hiring-related personnel actions, credentialing, onboarding, and personnel security requirements.
  • Establishes, maintains, and administers guard duty rosters and staffing schedules.
  • Assists the COR with the badging and access control program, including PIV card administration and visitor ID issuance.
  • Manages the contractor employee safety program.
  • Coordinates relief and backfill coverage for lunches, breaks, absences, and staffing shortages.
  • Provides reports, records, and required documentation to the COR.
  • Assists in developing, revising, and updating SOPs, Post Orders, and security procedures.
  • Performs additional supervisory and managerial duties as directed by Ahtna and the COR.
  • Provides emergency response support and performs security-related actions as required.
  • Serves as a member of the EROS Emergency Management Team (EMT) supporting the Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, military, emergency management, physical security, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience managing security personnel, schedules, training programs, and contract compliance activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and security-related software systems.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate Government or company vehicles.
  • Ability to legally possess and carry a firearm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience interacting with Government clients and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting DHS, DOI, USGS, DoD, FPS, or other federal agencies.
  • Experience managing guard force operations.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Experience with access control, badging systems, and emergency management programs.
