Overview

We are seeking a Deputy Project Leader to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run day‑to‑day operations of a project or sub‑section of a project.
  • Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution.
  • Price, track, and manage change orders.
  • Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
  • Maintain as‑built records as work is completed and document project issues/conditions.
  • Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
  • Research and compile submittals; price change orders and prepare estimates for partially designed projects by completing the design and preparing a complete project estimate.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
  • Understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements.
  • Travel up to 75%.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may need U.S. citizenship to access classified information. Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Education
  • BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or industry‑related degree) with 5+ years of experience.
Experience
  • Related construction experience with five years working for an electrical or construction contractor.
  • Experience on construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M.
  • Experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings on projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills; problem owner/solver.
  • Proven ability to plan and organize own activities or those of others.
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Office, Bluebeam, and PDF.
Preferred Skill Set
  • Accubid Estimating (or equivalent) directly related to electrical installations.
  • Primavera P6 CPM scheduling experience and proficiency (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
