We are seeking a Deputy Project Leader to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES strategic business unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities
  • Run day‑to‑day operations of a project or sub‑section of a project.
  • Identify change orders and ensuring effective resolution.
  • Price, track and manage change orders.
  • Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
  • Document project issues/conditions.
  • Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
  • Research and compile submittals; pricing change orders, safety plans and project schedules using MS Project.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
  • Clearly understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information. Active Top‑Secret clearance required.

Requirements
  • BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or Industry related degree) with 5+ years of experience.
  • Related Construction experience with 5+ years working for an electrical or construction contractor.
  • Experience working on construction projects ranging from $100,000 to $1M.
  • Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
  • Experience with scheduling.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on projects.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver.
  • Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others.
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, MS Project, and PDF.
  • PMP preferred but not necessary.
