Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Managing Deputy Program Manager for the West region to oversee contract delivery and supervise PMO staff in government projects. You will plan, resource, and monitor execution, deliver status reports to senior leadership, and ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

Ideal candidates bring military/government project management experience, DoD/VA health setting exposure, strong writing and leadership skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience overseeing and managing projects in military/government environments.
• Minimum one year in a DoD or VA health-related setting.
• Ability to influence and motivate others to collaborate.
• Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with Magellan, DoD, and military organizations.
• U.S. citizen; eligible for DoD security clearance.
• Prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational project support for reporting, taskers, presentations, and contract management.
• Supervise employees in PMO at regional or installation level.
• Meet with stakeholders to define goals and success factors.
• Create and execute project work plans; assign resources.
• Manage day-to-day project operations and scope; facilitate meetings.
• Prepare for project reviews and QA procedures.
• Develop status reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Deliver engaging, well-organized presentations.
• Escalate issues to maintain progress.
