Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Program Manager to lead national-security technology programs for DoD and IC customers, from concept through deployment.

You will oversee cost, schedule, technical performance, and sustainment while guiding cross-functional teams, maintaining trusted government relationships, and ensuring smooth transitions from IRAD to production.

An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility is required at hire.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility.
  • Ten+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least five years leading programs for DoD/IC customers.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for multimillion-dollar programs, contracts or task orders.
  • Experience managing program financial performance including revenue, margin, forecasts, and EAC.
  • Experience managing technical development, systems integration, production, sustainment, or mission-support programs.
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition environments and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, or task orders).
  • Strong written, oral, and executive-briefing communication, and ability to build trusted customer relationships.
  • Ability to organize evolving requirements into structured plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and scheduling tools.
  • PM certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution and growth of national-security technology programs for DoD/IC customers.
  • Manage cost, schedule, technical performance, financial results, and customer relationships for assigned programs.
  • Lead IRAD activities in coordination with Product Line Manager and Engineering Technical Lead.
  • Oversee end-to-end product delivery across development, integration, production, and deployment phases.
  • Lead sustainment operations, including support, maintenance, and enhancements throughout the lifecycle.
  • Coordinate engineering, field support, operations, contracts, and finance teams.
  • Monitor and control program budgets, schedules, and risks; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Engage customers and stakeholders, communicating program status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Support proposal development, contract growth strategies, and transitions from IRAD/prototyping to production/sustainment.

Job description

  • Manage cost, schedule, technical performance, financial results, and customer relationships for an assigned program or related projects
  • Lead and oversee IRAD activities in coordination with Product Line Manager and Engineering Technical Lead
  • Manage end-to-end product delivery across development, integration, production, and deployment phases
  • Lead sustainment operations, including support, maintenance, and enhancements throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of relevant professional experience, including at least five years leading programs, projects, or major technical workstreams for Department of Defense or Intelligence Community customers
  • Demonstrated responsibility for a multimillion-dollar program, contract or task order
  • Experience managing program financial performance, including revenue, margin, forecasts, estimates at completion, staffing, funding, and variance analysis
  • Experience managing technical development, systems integration, production, sustainment, or mission-support programs
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition and contracting environments, including experience with one or more contract types such as CPFF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, or task-order contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships with government customers and communicate effectively with senior customer and company leadership
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams containing technical, operational, contractual, and financial personnel
  • Ability to organize ambiguous or evolving customer requirements into structured plans, assigned responsibilities, milestones, and measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, written communication, and executive-briefing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify deteriorating program conditions, develop corrective-action plans, and lead teams through recovery
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and program scheduling or collaboration tools
  • Project Management Professional certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
