NJLM in Hamilton Township, Mercer, seeks an experienced Full-time Deputy Municipal Attorney with 5–7 years of experience to join its Law Department, a high-pressure, visible position serving municipal governance.

The role involves OPRA production, drafting contracts, managing tort claims, preparing ordinances and resolutions, interfacing with outside counsel, and representing the Township in litigation and advisory matters as required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of legal experience is required.

Responsibilities

• OPRA document production
• Preparation of contracts, leases, and other legal documents
• Management of tort claims
• Preparation of ordinances and resolutions
• Interface with outside counsel
• Litigation in judicial and administrative proceedings involving the Township
• Legal research and writing
• Providing legal advice to Township officers and departments
• Appearance at Council/Board meetings when needed
