Johnson County Government's Medical Examiner Office in Kansas seeks a Deputy Medical Examiner to serve as second in command to the Chief Medical Examiner. This role oversees autopsy operations, reviews medicolegal death investigations, and ensures adherence to NAME accreditation standards.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO with board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, plus Forensic Pathology board eligibility or certification.

Formación

• MD/DO with board cert in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology
• Forensic Pathology board certification or eligibility
• Forensic Pathology fellowship required/preferred

Responsabilidades

• Perform autopsies and prepare reports of findings and documentary evidence
• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings or hearings
• Manage Forensic Autopsy Technicians and student interns
• Review and approve cremation permits; coordinate with NAME standards
• Develop divisional policies and mass fatality plans; educate staff and students
