Allegheny County invites applications for the role of Chief Medical Examiner, a senior leadership position overseeing the medical examiner's office, crime laboratory, and related services. The incumbent will report to the County Manager and drive strategic goals, quality, and accreditation across a full-service operation.

The ideal candidate possesses MD/DO with PA licensure, dual board certification in anatomic and forensic pathology, and a track record of leadership and budget stewardship.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Pennsylvania medical licensure and board-certified in anatomic pathology and forensic pathology.
• Residency in anatomic pathology and fellowship in forensic pathology completed.
• Eight to ten years of professional experience; five+ years in management within forensic pathology preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead forensic pathology, morgue, and crime laboratory operations.
• Guide an evolving leadership team and strengthen organizational performance.
• Advance quality, accreditation, and professional partnerships.
• Help reestablish the forensic pathology fellowship program and develop future professionals.
