Job summary

The Crested Butte Marshal's Office is seeking a dedicated law enforcement professional to perform a full range of duties to ensure public safety, protect life and property, and enforce laws and ordinances.

Responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, coordinating with other agencies, operating vehicles and equipment safely, performing animal control, and delivering public education programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain within 30 days.
• Valid Colorado POST certification or obtain within 1 year.
• Must be 21 at time of POST certification.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned public areas; observe, detect, and apprehend violators of traffic and other laws; observe and take actions regarding hazards and illegal activities.
• Respond to complaints including accidents, robberies, assaults, and other incidents; administers first aid in emergencies.
• Coordinate with other jurisdictions, law enforcement agencies, courts, and Town staff.
• Safely operate a variety of law enforcement vehicles, firearms and equipment.
• Perform animal control duties as required.
• Conduct public education programs as assigned.
