Job summary

The City and County of San Francisco seeks a Deputy Director II for Restorative & Prevention Services to lead Pretrial, Reentry, and Violence Response divisions. You will set strategic direction, oversee budgets, and drive evidence-based practices across multiple programs and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or related field.
• Three years of management experience in complex human/social/criminal justice services with supervisory duties.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for Pretrial, Reentry, and Violence Response divisions.
• Enforce SOPs and policies aligned with executive directives and public safety goals.
• Advise Chief Probation Officer and represent SFAPD in executive decisions and interagency forums.
• Drive care-first, equity-focused reforms to reduce detention and build community trust.
• Direct division managers to ensure evidence-based service delivery and compliance.
• Coordinate CASC referrals for housing, workforce development, legal aid, and behavioral health.
• Oversee supervision technologies, data systems, and performance measurement tools.
• Modernize training curricula for sworn and non-sworn staff in trauma-informed care.
• Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, contracts with partners, and funding strategies.
• Engage stakeholders across courts, prosecutors, sheriffs, and community partners.
