Job summary

San Francisco Adult Probation Department seeks a Deputy Director II for Restorative & Prevention Services to lead Pretrial, Reentry, and Violence Response divisions. Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of extensive management experience leading and directing a complex organization or division providing human, social, or criminal justice services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for three divisions: Pretrial, Reentry, and Violence Response Services.
  • Set division goals, SOPs, and policies aligned with executive directives and community safety.
  • Advise the Chief Probation Officer and represent SFAPD in interagency and public forums.
  • Drive reforms that reduce detention, address bias, and foster public trust.
  • Direct division managers to ensure evidence-based service delivery and compliance.
  • Coordinate CASC referral pathways for housing, workforce development, and legal aid.
  • Oversee supervision tech, electronic monitoring, and data systems.
  • Modernize training for staff on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
  • Oversee multi-million-dollar budgets, contracts, and resource allocation.
  • Build strong partnerships with courts, law enforcement, and community groups.
