Division Overview

The division of Roadway Repair and Maintenance (RRM) is seeking a Deputy Director to support leadership in the Resource Management Unit. RRM employs approximately 1,400 staff and manages NYC's streets and arterial highways, overseeing a $266 million capital budget and a $190 million expense budget. The Resource Management unit ensures division priorities are funded and reports on operational statistics and key indicators. It comprises analysts coordinating with administrative and operational units to support funding and management of budgets, contracts, and initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and track capital and expense budgets.
  • Support supervision of staff and ensure funding for division priorities.
  • Coordinate with RRM administration, field offices, and external partners such as DOT ACCO, Budget, Policy offices, OMB, DCAS, and others.
  • Manage contracts essential for division operations.
  • Lead ad-hoc and special projects involving cost-benefit, statistical, and economic analyses.
  • Assist the Director with daily operations, special projects, and policy recommendations to executive management.

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. A master's degree in relevant fields such as economics, finance, public administration, or related areas from an accredited institution.
  2. Or a baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional experience in areas like budget administration, economic or financial research, management analysis, or related fields.

Note: To qualify for Assignment Level II, an additional year of experience is required after meeting the minimum qualifications.
